I would prefer if the comparison was with Alex Rodriguez. Jeter was never the hitter A-Rod was in his prime and some would still contend he was a better fielder at SS that Jeter when both were SS’s. Jeter was great and a Hall of Famer for sure, but Correa appears to have more power and even a stronger hitting potential. (Tough to say for a 3000 hit guy like Jeter, but A-Rod (PEDs aside) is the comparison I like best. As for demeanor you can compare Correa to Jeter all day. Both seem to have it right!

Last night during the Al Star selection show the broadcasters pretty much agreed that the best shortstop in the American League right now is Carlos Correa. Heady stuff.

Agree with Greg. Jeter may have been faster afoot. I confess I feel a little silly comparing two barely 21 year-old guys after 15 and 24 games, two decades apart. Correa is one of those rare players who gets you excited to watch. I haven’t seen too much of his defense yet, but he’s already got a few highlight reel dazzlers under his belt. The trick: STAY HEALTHY! (Are you listening Mr. Springer? Duck. Wear body armor. Don’t crash into walls. Stretch those muscles.)

Greg is correct ,Correa and Alex are more alike in their talents ,both are physically close in abilities, when Correa comes to bat during a game on tv , it is hard to turn away, ,if you do you will miss something, there is a certain drama in his at bats
